OnePlus 3 wins Android Oreo in restricted beta group, soon in the 3T and 5


A small group of OnePlus 3 users are getting the update for the beta version of Android 8.0 Oreo, reports the Android Police website. Members of a select closed company program began to notice the notification with the update steps on the 2016 handset.

The update is being sent via OTA (Over The Air), weighing approximately 800 MB and takes Oxygen OS, OnePlus’s own interface, to version 16. In the list of changes, there is no in-depth information, only that Android Nougat is being replaced by Android Oreo. See the following details:


According to the source, the build in question is still far from being ready to the general public, presenting instabilities in the connections, such as Wi-Fi networks, personal access, Bluetooth, NFC and so on. OnePlus made it clear that the version still has severe errors.


In any case, OnePlus aims to be one of the first companies to bring Android 8.0 Oreo to its customers. A more stable beta is expected to be shipped to OnePlus 3, OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 5 by the middle of this September, stay tuned for more information.
